Do you want to try yourself as a Skoltech student? Skoltech invites you to attend and participate in the Open lesson which will be given by Professor Artem Oganov. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and communicate with current students from Materials Science MSc program.
Artem Oganov says: "So far, the problem of computational crystal structure prediction of materials with the desired properties was considered to be unsolvable. Luckily, there are a lot of methods that allow us to predict the crystal structure of materials, as well as methods that allow us to predict properties by the crystal structure, have brought us closer to the solution of this problem." Professor will talk about the evolutionary algorithm USPEX developed by himself and his team and some of its results and the aspects of creating several types of new materials in the nearest future.
